Taranaki is a crucial monument for Maori tribes from the whole country. Climb to the volcano is quite demanding, because it's steep and very soft, each step forward leads to two steps back. The reward was the meeting with a very nice couple in the hut and this beautiful sunset when the volcano casts the shadow into the lowland haze. Panorama made from seven vertical photos.
